During the the G8 Summit in the Baltic Heiligendamm on the 6-8 of June, Germany will suspend the Schengen Agreement and will introduce the passport control on the borders to the neighbouring countries. This was officially reported by the German minister of the internal affairs Wolfgang Schaeuble.
He said that according to the situation, the passport control will be performed on the land borders and also in the German airports and Sea ports. The goal of this measure, as Schaeuble says, is to prevent the country from the entry of criminals and aggressively intended anti-globalists that could organize mass disturbances during the summit.
Wolfgang Schaeuble has also indicated that the passport control will be held selectively and the disturbance to the normal border traffic will be minimal. |
