Hundreds of people in the age of 3 till 84 have taken part in the world championship of the throwing of the old Provence boot on the seashore of France.
The championship was held in the fifth time and in this year as the place for the competition was chosen Marseilles.
Quite a lightweight linen boot was thrown with the foot by the sportsmen, having in on the toe. To try their luck and to show themselves came the boot throwers from all the France and also from Belgium, Canada, USA and Morocco.
The winner among men was the Frenchman Vincent Pastor. In 5 attempts he has established the championship record - 22,70 meters. The winner among the women with the result of 16,01 meters was Li Lian from China. The world record of the year 2005 was not beaten this time - 25,03 meters. |
