The Gendarmerie of the mountain resort Chamonix located in France, have arrested the Dutch avantgarde painter Marco Evaristti who wanted to paint the top of Mont Blanc in pink.
Noteworthy is that the day before the arrest the 43 years old painter has managed to try his hand and painted a small piece of the mountain on the height of 3,4 thousand meters.
The painter wanted not only to climb the peak that is 4810 meters over the sea level and paint it in pink, but also to rename the mountain in "Mont Rouge" - "Pink Mountain". Moreover, he wanted to declare a part of the region as the independent "Pink state".
Evaristti became popular in 2005 when he has painted an iceberg in one of the Greenland fjords. He has spent 3 thousand liters of paint that time. |
