Alcohol powder - new mode in Amsterdam

9 Jun. 2007

Students of the Helicon Vocational Institute n Netherlands have created a powder which can be added to water to get an alcoholic drink. The powder got the name Booz2Go. A 20-gram portion costs 1-1,5 Euro. It's contents should be mixed with water and a 3% alcoholic drink is ready. It tastes and looks like lemonade.

According to one of the inventors, the novelty is targeted to the youth. It is prohibited in Netherlands to sell tobacco and alcohol to persons under 16 years old. But the powder can hardly be called a drink that is why the under-aged citizens can easily buy it in shops. The invention has already raised huge interest in business and some companies have already expressed their wishes to sell the product.
