Scientific tourism will save the world 11 Jun. 2007 |
|
Americans call this type of occupation "learning travel", which means educational, informative or scientific tourism. Some travelers want not only to watch, but also to know and help the nature. Scientific tourism is one of the most rapidly progressive departments in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean district of Canadian province Quebec.
European tourists come there to help the science and to bring their own proper contribution into the building of the bright future of our planet. Some of them will do measuring and weighing of the fish on the bay ice for the benefit of research of nautical dwellers. Other tourists will spend a several days in the Saint-Felicien zoo, to help vets look after the animals. Some will be able to see after the bats in the natural surroundings with a view to describe their behavior.
It is slated to branch out the sphere of scientific tourism for the near future in Quebec. It is also decided to include active participation in such types of activity as caving and archeology, agriculture, criminology, literature and medicine, into educational routes. |
