European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has approved the use of GSM-based cellular phones on Airbus fleet. Officials of Airbus claim that passengers will be able to make and receive calls, send and receive e-mails and short messages during the flight.
European consumers will be the first to be able to use the technology with Air France, Ryanair, British low-cost BMI and Portugal's TAP, says The New York Times. It is believed that the average price will be about $2.50 per minute for calls and about $0.50 per SMS message. |
