Perfume Museum is now opened for visitors in the territory of "Severnoe Siyanie" ("Nothern Lights") factory in St. Petersburg. The exposition includes rare pieces of perfumery art of late XIX - early XX century, cosmetics of revolutionary and martial period, sample copies of the perfumes of fine ladies, and photographs of everyday life of the factory as well.
Each visitor may smell the proposed perfumery and even try it on himself. The exposition is opened Monday to Friday from 9 till 17, the entrance is free.
"Severnoe Siyanie" factory is one of the senior enterprises in Russia, founded in 1860 as "St. Petersburg chemical laboratory". Only 13 persons worked on the factory then, producing colognes, eau de parfum, beauty soap and cosmetic goods. |
