575 taxis of Maldives have stopped the service - drivers clamor for lower petrol prices. They complain that the price of any ride to any point of the small coral island is just about 1.2$
The longest road on the islands is just 1.6 km long. The pedestrians in the narrow streets find themselves comfortable even without taxi. The density of population of the main island is more than 100 000 people per 1 sq. mile. 369 000 of residents enjoy the pleasure to have the highest income per capita, mostly because Maldives are the most expensive place for tourists.
From all that has been said it's clear that trying to make a revolt in heaven is fool's rrand. |
