Jakarnaval shines at night.

The Jakarta administration will hold the annual Jakarnaval on Saturday night. This is the eighth year the carnival, which is part of the city's anniversary celebrations, will be held. It will start at 7 p.m. in front of City Hall.

The procession will include cavalry, Harley Davidson bikers, a marching band from the School of Sailing and an Indonesian flag carrier troop during the launch. The carnival would also feature various local community and institutional groups marching under a banner saying "Let's make Jakarta an Indonesian multicultural symbol". The decorated car convoy will pass along all the central streets and end at Semanggi in South Jakarta.

The carnival's main purpose is to promote Jakarta's safety at night.
