Malta will become "Isle of MTV" this summer.

This year "Isle of MTV" is going to be held truly on an island. Star performers such as Enrique Iglesias, Maroon 5 and Akon are due to take to the stage, with Maltese pop star Ira Losco completing the line-up. The festival is expected to be visited by more than 20 000 fans will be set against the beautiful backdrop of Floriana's Fosos Square which in Valletta. Previously the festival was held in Portugal (2002), France (2003), Spain (2004), Italy (2005).

Isle of MTV will take place on 26 July and will be free to attend. MTV will broadcast an hour-long special to 166 million homes in Europe from September 3.
