French capital authorities decided to evolve 30 million Euro on the program of protection of historical Bohemian districts on the left bank of Seine - the 5th and 6th districts. There will be allowed to be opened only locations connected with books, arts and art house films in this area during next 3 years.
In Paris administration's opinion, famous streets of the left bank of Seine and the Quartier Latin lose the 'spirit of the age': they are flooded with commonplace network shops and coffee-rooms. It is referred to Starbucks and McDonald's opened lately in Saint-Germain-des-Pres, in particular.
The 5th and 6th districts were a peculiar kind of cultural centre of Paris in the beginning and middle of 20th century: literary men and artists beginning with Picasso and Proustto Hemingway, Camus and Sartre were gathering there. Famous Les Deux Magots and Cafe de Flore which are still running, left their mark thanks to these men of arts.
