Pay phones set on the Swedish streets will become points of wi-fi connecting to Internet. It is said that by the autumn TeliaSonera, one of the main Scandinavian providers, is going to upgrade 700 city public call-boxes with WLAN base stations and will provide a wireless connection up to 150 meters away. In order to use the service, customers will need a portable computer and a mobile telephone to receive the password. The first boxes to be upgraded will be located in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö, then will come the turn of approximately 20 Swedish towns.
