Special stations of silence are going to be set up in Shanghai downtown streets - it is planned to set several sound-proof 'pavs' where passers-by will be able to get a portion of silence paying a small amount of money.
The idea of creating of quite stations belongs to German designer Andreas Rimkus. It is assumed that stations will smoothly wed with the landscape. "I have named it the Shanghai Art Station of Silence, as I believe Shanghai is where the impossible can be achieved," says designer. In fact, if the plan is approved, Shanghai will become the first city in the world with such facilities.
