People are evacuated from the Mexican resorts

19 Aug. 2007

Thousands of tourists have been evacuated from the Mexican resorts because of the approach of the tempest, which had befallen the islands of the Caribbean Basin.

The most vigorous hurricane "Dean" may reach Mexico already by Sunday evening. Saint Lucia, Martinica and Dominica have suffered from it.

"Dean" is the first hurricane in this season, which arose in the Atlantic Ocean. It moves to the North-West at a speed of 30 kilometers per hour. The gusts amount to 295 kilometers per hour.

The wind may still become stronger. The hurricane amounted to the fourth category of damage according to the international five-point Saffir-Simpson scale the day before.
