Recently appeared at some Chinese resorts treatment named "Fish SPA" becomes fashionable in many recreational areas with thermal springs and attracts more and more clients.
Many tropical fish named Garra Rufa, also known as Chinchin Yu or simply Doctor Fish, are placed in thermal springs. Since they can live and swim perfectly well in hot water minimum of 43 degrees they are used for a natural treatment of skin diseases in such SPA. This fish feed on the dead cells of a human organism without touching healthy cells. As it is reported the whole process is absolutely painless, the bather can even feel a pleasant tingle of his skin. This species of fish lives in river pools at the Middle East including Syria, Iraq, Iran and Turkey, that is why the are sometimes called The Turkish fish. In Turkey this species is forbidden for commercial use because of some export matters.
In 2006 in a Japanese city Hakone a first resort with fish SPA was opened. Asian Doctor Fish- the fish was cleaning the bathers' soles. Lately it becomes popular at the resorts of China and South Korea.
