On 18th of august a Swiss glacier Alestsch became the place for gathering of 600 naked people who were posing for the New York photographer Spenser Tunic.
This event was the protest action of the Greenpeace organization, which wanted with its help attract attention of the world community to the oncoming danger of the global warming. After the photographer's words the shots taken at Alestsch show to the whole world the vulnerability of the glaciers even against the background of a fragile human body and should induce the authorities to take emergency measures for the environment protection.
At the first photographer's session were present 300 people then Spenser Tunic gathered 600 volunteers from all over the world to Alestsh. The New York photographer already has reach experience of the mass nude photo session. In Mexico at the Socolo square over 20000 people were posing to him imitating the pose of an embryo inside the womb.
The Greenpeace representatives report that the governments from developed countries need to react to the climate changes immediately because soon it will be too late.
Over the last 150 years the Swiss glaciers have lost third part of ice from their surface and half of total mass. If the process doesn't stop then by the year 2080 the glaciers can simply disappear.
The glacier Alestsch was admitted by UNESCO a World's Property in 2001. It is considered to be the longest in Europe- its length is 23 kilometers. |
