As The Times reports, John Lennon's piano, with the help of which the musician composed the song Imagine in 1971, will set off for a tour through Great Britain. The piano belongs to George Michael now. The singer bought it at an auction in 2007. According to Michael's will, the piano made tours through different places in the USA in spring 2007 already, where considerable acts of violence had ever been committed. The instrument will make an analogous tour through Great Britain now. The piano will visit all four places in London, where the terrorists' attacks took place on July 7th, 2005. The other supposed places include the region in south-western London, where the racists killed a black teenager Stephen Lawrence in 1993, and Admiral Duncan bar in the core of the city, in which a bomb explosion occurred in 1999.
The passers-by, which will become interested in the instrument, will be suggested to play Imagine or any other composition in accordance with their desire on the piano in every of the above-mentioned places. George Michael hopes that the action (which was called "a tragic tour" by the singer) will draw mankind's attention to the necessity of the maintenance of world peace. |
