On August 25 in Berlin there will be the 21st Long Night of Museums that takes place two times in a year - in February and in August. This night is a special anniversary night. What had been just an original idea ten years ago that became now one of the greatest events in cultural life of Berlin: this summer 110 museums of Berlin, collections, archives, memorials and exposition halls are going to take part in Long Night - ten years ago there were only twelve participants.
During this night the museums will work from 6 p.m. till 2 a.m. The price for tickets including visiting all the museums and also transit in city transport in A, B and C zones, is 15 Euros (at discount - 10), in pre-sale - 12 and 8 Euros. Tickets can be bought in museums and box offices, in such centers as BERLINinfostores in Kranzler Eck, Kurfrstendamm, near the Brandenburg, in Alexanderplatz and at the Central railway station.
Besides excursions in museums, concerts and diverse performances, readings, reports and movies are awaiting night visitors. "The Orchestra of Noses" (Oberkreuzberger Nasenfltenorchester), "Laptoporchester" (musicians use the laptops as musical instruments) and other exotic bands will play in the square near the Kulturforum (Tiergarten). |
