23 Aug. 2007

Government of Vietnam took the decision to prohibit the development of small hotel and trailhead network in Ha Long Bay, proclaimed it a part of the World Heritage, the information agency VietNamNet Bridge reports.

Ha Long Bay, situated 160 kilometers to Hanoi - the capital of Vietnam, is one of the main tourist sights of the country that attracts thousand people wishing to get pleasure from gazing at its magnificent picturesque views.

Within the nature sight conservation program, developed together with UNESCO, they have also imposed a ban for use of motorboats and scooters in the bay, as well as for use of other means of transport that can pollute the water of the bay with petrol or other propellants or break the silence with the roar of motors.

The head of Ha Long Bay administration told that henceforth new licenses to fish and catch shrimps in the bay will not be given, and also the Government is going to consider the question about resettlement of part of the population living in the island to the continent.
