The best historical routes under the Forbes version

25 Aug. 2007

Forbes Traveler has published the list of legendary routes which can be followed even nowadays. On the first place there is the Silk Route, the road several thousands kilometers long, connecting the Mediterranean coast of Turkey and China.

The second place is occupied with the rout from Athens to Olympia, which was the Greeks' way to Olympic Games: it may be driven by car, at the same time feasting eyes with the ancient monasteries and small villages.

One of the most popular railway routes is on the third place - the journey from China to Russia by the trans-Siberian highway which affords the unusual view of Siberia and Mongolia. The fourth place is occupied with traditional cruise over Nile. There is a lot of unique sightseeing and ancient constructions on the coast of the river. The fifth place is given to the cruise over the Mississippi river: during the sail tourists can enjoy the remarkable view of "real" America.
