Who would thought about it, that the elegant mansions of the Newport built as country houses by the powerful criminals could be a good resting place for children? There are several houses of this kind in Rhode Island and they are considered the sightseeing of New England.
"The Breakers" is a 70-rooms private residence built by the railway king Cornelius Vanderbilt in 1895. It is famous being a family tour adapted to children. The tour is held daily during the summer and starts with a children amusement room.
As the guide might has been a kindergarten tutor in the past, so five-years old Charlie and three-years old Doug have been listening the stories about Cornelius children with a great interest. Especially they liked the story how the children rolled on the silver salver down from the stairs. The children younger than six years old takes the tour free of charge.
