The taxi-drivers in Tokyo want to please everyone

Having obeyed the fashionable anti tobacco company, the authorities of Tokyo have decided to make the city taxis non-smoking. The administration of Association of the car passenger transportation which unites 90% of the capital companies - taxi operators - since the January, 2008 will forbid to its passengers to smoke during the ride. At the beginning of the present year such a prohibition was already put in operation in the prefecture of the city Kangava and Nagoya, but only as an experiment. Its results were admitted to be successful and it was decided to spread them over the capital.

From the very beginning such a decision was taken under the pressure of a huge member of complaints from the non-smoking citizens for the unpleasant smell in the taxi salons. However the authorities don't forget about the smoking part of the citizens and their interests. In the "non-smoking" taxis the clients will be offered special chewing gums which will help them to hold on till the end of the ride and in some extreme cases will even stop and offer the clients to smoke outside.
