A tourist has nearly jumped into the Niagara waterfall

16 Feb. 2007

The Niagara waterfall history has almost got another curious record.

A 29 years old Polish tourist has nearly jumped into the Niagara waterfall to save his... mobile phone. He was almost in the waterstream, after about 60 meters slipping over the ice covered rock, trying to catch his gadget.

As it revealed later, the traveler has underestimated the danger and the slippery of the rocks and jumped without a thought after the cellphone, but after a couple of meters has slipped, fell down and bowled along the steep rock right to the waterflow. After that already the tourist should have been saved, no the phone.

Anyways, the 45 minutes spent on the edge of the chasm were probably the right 45 minutes to remap the values of life. Unfortunately, the history does not tell us the model of the phone that could a life to it's owner.
