Octoberfest, one of the most popular and large festivals in the world has started in Munich.
Within 16 days the city will be visited by 6 million people. The range of celebrations was traditionally opened by the Munich burgomaster Christian Ude having hammered a tap into the huge beer barrel, is reporting EuroNews.
In traditional big pavilions, beer gardens, café and restaurants is being prepared 100 000 landing places for the visitors. 8 thousands people are constantly engaged in the service.
Just a thing can limit the beer fans: the price of a beer liter in "Octoberfest 2007" will be 40% higher than last year.
To not let the festival become spoiled the police issued special small instructions for visitors. According to police officers, represent pickpockets the main danger for visitors as usual. |
