The General Assembly of International Tourism Organization established the International Tourism Day in Torremolino, 1979. The purpose of the holiday is to propagandize tourism, to throw light on its contribution to the economy of world society, to develop good relationships between different peoples.
It is a holiday for everyone who has ever felt himself as a traveler having got out of a daily dull fuss to have rest at a riverside, forest, field or any other place.
It is a holiday for those who are directly engaged in tourism business area, like employees of tourism agencies and museums, heads and personnel of hotel complexes, - everybody who ensures a full-fledged rest professionally.
For more than 20 years the holiday is being celebrated in the most countries of the world. Various meetings of tourists and festive events dedicated to tourism business are being held on this day. |
