Tomato juice paralyzed new York's airport.

22 Oct. 2007

Long lines were formed at La Guardia airport in New York on Sunday because of the damage of one of the X-ray installations that scan the passengers' luggage.

As they found out, spilled tomato juice was the reason of the delay of passengers at the pre-flight check point at terminal D, where the American Airlines internal planes take off from. According to unofficial records, the responsible for the incident is the employee of one of airport's commercial firms.

According to the records of broadcasting companies, the passengers had to stay in lines all the morning and a great part of the day. The x-ray installation had been fixed till evening and the situation at the pre-flight check point normalized.

The number of the flights that were delayed because of the incident was not announced. Meanwhile in the Department of Transport Security of the USA no reasons to worry were found, underlining the fact the "there is always risks when dealing with technology".
