Two citizens of Sri Lanka became victims of a Cyprian taxi driver who promised to deliver their relatives to Cyprus. The ride should cost from 800 up to 1000 pounds.
In the first case the citizen of Sri Lanka agreed with the taxi driver that he would help her husband come to Cyprus. The taxi driver estimated his services in 1200 pounds. He took 800 pounds as the advance payment. He should have received the rest 400 pounds after the arrival of the woman's spouse from Sri Lanka. However, her husband could not reach Cyprus, and the taxi driver simply "vanished".
In the second case the taxi driver promised the help in registration of entry visas and sanctions to reside in Cyprus to the citizen of Sri Lanka for his two relatives for 1700 pounds. Having taken the advance payment for «his services» at the rate of 1000 pounds, the criminal disappeared.
As a result the deceived Sri Lankans put their applications to the police. The authorities gave out the warrant on arrest of the thug-driver. As the investigators suppose, the victims of the tricky taxi driver became not only two citizens of Sri Lanka, applied to the police.
