The majority of the Italian restaurants have excluded dishes with truffles from the menus The reason for such decision is that price for these mushrooms is too high: between 4 thousand and 7,5 thousand Eur for 1 kg. Truffles have always been expensive, but in this year their price has reached a record mark. Clients have ceased to order them, and restaurateurs suffer losses. Cost of mushrooms has jumped up because of droughty summer that has led to reduction of their amount by 60 %. Only the recently frequent rainfalls and decrease in temperature have corrected this situation a little bit according to the Tur-info.pl. Dario Pastrone, 52 years old, made sure that truffles this year are worth their weight in gold. He came back from a wood after gathering 0,5 kg of valuable mushrooms. He was robbed on the road by unknown persons. |
