The cabbage from the Czech city of Nosovitse, which is made sour in a special way, has received so-called «Protective mark of the European Union». The mark certificates that the product made in a certain place is unique because if its composition and taste properties. The mark forbids any other manufacturer from the EU countries to produce and sell the product under the same brand. This is the tenth Czech product that is protected in such a way. However, other countries protect their products much better. In Italy 163 products have protective mark, in France - 156, in Spain - 108, and in Portugal - 104. The Nosovitskaja sauerkraut is made in a special way from fresh cabbage by adding dairy culture. They make it only in two villages: Nosovitse and Nizhni Lgoty not far from the city of Fridek-Mistek in Moravskosilezskyy territory in the east of Czech Republic. |
