The new internet-project "The Geographer" created a full photo report about United Kingdom and Northern Ireland.
The project begins from The Wingletang Mountains in the south part of Saint-Agnes Island of Scilly Isles till the northern rock of British Isles. And there are 600000 of other places embodied between these spots.
In a very short time "The geographer" covered the whole Britain and Ireland with lots of digital pictures. The most interesting part is that the pictures were taken by amateur photographers that wanted to contribute in the practice of geotagging. The geotagging is a mix of the art of taking pictures with the science of digital cartography. It is a new technology of binding the digital pictures to the geographic spots on the map of the world, the usage of geographic grinds facilitates the finding of the location by the means of internet. Nowadays you can find the geophoto of any spot on earth and its latitude and longitude on the internet.
In this way using the GPS device on an unknown area one can easily orient and make an excellent route for the weekend. And thanks to the new project "The Geographer", if coming for the first time to Great Britain you won't get lost and will easily find the most interesting places for you. |
