According to the research conducted during this summer by the Canadian Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce the representatives of nontraditional sexual orientation consider Canada to be one of the most hospitable countries. The new inquiry prepared by American company Community Marketing Inc. this time, has shown, that the main center of the gay-tourism in Canada is Vancouver.
This city receives the status of the best city for the tourists with nontraditional sexual orientation for the second consecutive year. It has the fourth place on a global scale among the most popular tourist directions for gays and lesbians outside the United States after London, the Mexican city of Puerto-Vallarta and Paris.
Other two Canadian cities - Montreal and Toronto - have taken the fifth and sixth places. According to the 83 % of the respondent gay-tourists have the opinion that Canada is the friendliest country for them, like, for example, the Netherlands, Australia, the Great Britain and France. It is interesting that 23 % of the gay-tourists and only 14 % of the "straights" prefer to travel during winter. |
