The shortest and the longest flights in the world

The OAG company, specialized on the IT-technology in the transport branch has determined the shortest and the longest flights in the year 2006

The longest one performs Singapore Airlines. Their Airbus A340-500 flies between Singapore and Newark Airport not far away from New York in 18 hours and 40 minutes and it makes 15 325 kilometers.

The shortest regular flight is performed by Loganair between the Wastray and Papa-Wastray islands in Orkney archipelago (Scotland). The plane called Britten-Norman Islander makes 14 kilometers in 2 minutes.
