New Year Fir-Trees Are Put Bottom Side up in London

10 Dec. 2007

The new way of installing the New Year tree bottom side up has become popular in the best homes of Great Britain. The shops oriented towards the new cultural trends sell on the threshold of holidays special artificial fir-trees that stand bottom side up.

Last year this fashion first appeared and spread in New York. This year it was followed by London, Paris, Berlin and Brussels.

The holiday fir-tree standing bottom side up recovers an ancient tradition of celebrating Christmas.

People have begun to hang these trees on the ceiling in Christian temples since the 7th century. The three-cornered fir-trees symbolized the Holy Trinity.
