For somebody this could be exotics, but some people live there. Stromboli volcano in the south of Italy is awake. It is located to the south from Sicilia and is actually a separata island. Only at the bottom of the volcano, there are several small bungalows that can be rented in touristic seasons. The path to the volcano is already known to the tourists and right now dozens of them are coming to take a look at "Vesuvius in miniature" ad they call Stromboli, that spits out smoke and lava.
The Italian authorities have announced the state of emergency in the area. According to the information from the geophysics, the crater of the volcano erupts 2 streams of lava and one of those has already reached the sea and resulted in a slight collapse of volcanic rock. By the way, the eruption of this volcano can lead to anomaly huge waves, a kind of tsunamis, as it was here 5 years ago and led to serious damage on the neighboring islands. |
