Investigations have shown that 300 hundred of Dubai hotels emit half a million tons of carbon dioxide annually. They also point to the necessity of the electrical power and water economy and decreasing of atmospheric emissions of harmful gas.
The company, which made the investigations that have shown that five-star hotels of Dubai consume by 225% more energy than European hotels of the same rank, has been distinguished with the Emirates Energy Award. These hotels emit 6500 tons of carbon dioxide annually, while the European hotels emit only 3000 tons.
Water consumption in Dubai hotels also considerably exceeds the European indicators. While the average water consumption per guest in a five-star hotel in Zurich constitutes 490 liters, in Dubai it fluctuates between 650 and 2000 liters water per person in a seven-star hotel.
Dubai hotels consume on average from 275 till 325Kw/h of electric power per 1 square meter. In German hotels - only 100Kw/h per 1 square meter, the difference is in 225%.
According to company's investigations, the annual energy cost of leading five-star Dubai hotels is 2 million dollars. |
