An educational institution was opened in Finland, in which all comers will be able to acquire basic knowledge and habits of an elf.

The profession of Santa Claus' assistant comes to be in greater demand in the country. The Academy of Elfs was opened in Rovaniemi and it will be able to give education to 2 000 people a year. There are no age limits. The elfs' duties are not only to pack presents, every year they reply to 750 000 of letters, which Santa Claus receives.

About 500 000 of tourists, mostly from France, Great Britain and Russia, visit Rovaniemi and its outskirts every year. Safari on deerback, a trip on an ice-breaker, fishing are popular entertainments for visitors.
