The waves of the height up to 14 meters that can become the highest ones in the history of the country will collapse on the western coast of Ireland from the Atlantic Ocean within the next two days. The Marine Institute and the Meteorological Agency of Ireland came out with such a warning.
The intensification of the wind and the wide belt of the very low pressure above the western coast will contribute to the formation of the incredibly high wave.
The ships are recommended to abstain from the stay in the dangerous zone and the inhabitants of Ireland are not advised to be in the immediate vicinity of the ocean. Some of the passenger ferries have already canceled their trips because of the storm alert.
The record height of the wave - 13,4 meters - was last registered on January 17th in 2005 in Galway. This parameter is usually two - two and a half times as little in November-December. |
