The ice hotel for 40 persons is opened in Norway

2 Dec. 2007

The most southern ice hotel in the world will be opened in December in Hunderfossen, the Norwegian Winter Park, as it has been reported in the Representative Office of Tourism Council of Norway in Moscow.

According to the source, 100 lorries of snow and 50 tonnes of ice have been used for the construction of the hotel.

"The hotel will consist of 15 rooms, in which 40 guests will be able to be accommodated at the same time, a sauna, a restaurant and a conference hall. Even a fireplace will function in it. For all this, air temperature in the rooms will vary from -3 to -7 Celsius degrees", - he added.

Ice hotels as the tourist attraction and a means of accommodation began to be offered at the resorts of Finland and Norway several years ago for the first time.

The hotel in Hunderfossen will become the most southern of them.
