The prestigious specialized American magazine "Wine Spectator" has declared the French red wine 'Clos de Papes' to be the best red wine in the world.
The experts have unanimously appreciated the high quality of grapes, the ripeness of bouquet, and the harmony of tannins. Wine containing 15% of alcohol can be aged for 20 years. Its producer price is 35 Euro per bottle.
The gold medal laureate Paul-Vincent Avril humbly says that his merit in this success is small: "We have fertile soil and ideal climate here in Provence." Wine in Chateauneuf-du-Pape is produced since 1600. Paul-Vincent's Father, grandfather and great-grandfather were also engaged in this noble business. |
