The carnival in Costa-Rica is held right after the Christmas, not in February - March, like in most Latin American countries.
Horse parade held on the 26th of December is the main event of the festival in the capital of the country San-Hose. Best riders on horseback of their embellished racers trained to perform various tricks and wonderfully elegant pace, swiftly trot the roads of the city.
Next day, on the 27th of December the horse procession is changed to the decorated vehicles parade, traditional for each carnival. Music is playing; whole dancing groups ride on huge platforms and just move around the city dancing stirring Latin American dances on-the-run.
When it gets dark the festival is concluded by parties, that is to say, gatherings in Costa-Rica's manner, spontaneously appearing in house yards and just in the streets. |
