On Friday, December 28, deputies of the Nepal Parliament casted their affirmative votes for monarchy abolishment and declaration of the Republic. The monarchy abolishment in the country was approved by 270 of deputies and three of them only spoke against.
Despite the decision taken, the king of Nepal Ghjanendra is still keeping his throne: the agreement concluded last week between the country Government and Maoists stipulates that de facto converting of Nepal into Republic can take place after constitutive assembly only. As to Finmarket, election by results of which the persons will be determined that come in this assembly will take place not earlier than in the mid April 2008. |
