Now one of the islands of the Canarian archipelago. Island Montana-Clara, that's located in the north of the larger island-Lansarote is put for sale at the price of 9 million Euro.
Montana-Clara has volcanic origin and it occupies the area of 300 hectares. The seller is the heir of Mariano Lopez Sorcas, the mayor of one the of small towns at Lancarote, who has owned the island.
The Spanish government has expressed their interest in the bid. The only minus that constructing in the island is not allowed, for the safety of the surrounding environment.
It's not the first time when an island is being sold. In the end of July Estonia announced about the selling of the Linnusita that belongs to them with the area of 4/8 hectares for 220 thousand dollars. You can buy the Latvian Round island of 3,2 hectares on the lake Raznas with a piece of land, for almost a million dollars. |
