Malta has opened sea borders with the Schengen countries

Since December, 21st, 2007 the water border between Malta and its sea neighbors - the countries-participants of the Schengen agreement has been opened. It will allow to avoid the formalities connected with registration of visas for the entrance to other countries of Shengen. Now visitors of Malta have an opportunity to visit the Sicily located nearby without registration of additional documents.

As the Maltese management of tourism informs, since April, 2008 the air borders between Malta and the countries of Schengen also will be opened.
