In January fifteen young fashion designers are going to occupy some of premises which will be vacated in the well-known "red block" in Amsterdam because of the closing of 51 brothels at the end of the last year under the decree of the city authorities.
The project which has received the name Red Light Fashion is called upon to position Amsterdam as a city of fashion. According to municipality, fashion will make Amsterdam even more popular.
There are a lot of talents in Amsterdam, but young fashion designers often can't find a good and inexpensive premise in the city, this is why they often go to Rotterdam or Arnhem where it is possible to find easily a premise for work. The project will become a good way to keep talented youth in the capital. |
