Police of the British county West Midlands has begun an internal investigation regarding exceeding of official powers after 12 police officers rushed into one of Birmingham pubs and started checking its customers for the purpose of soberness.
The police officers' splash of activity fell on the pub "The Prince of Wales". Law-enforcement officers drew a straight line at the backyard of the pub by means of chalk and made the slightly tight customers walk along it.
According to Kit Mardsen, the owner of the pub, according to results of the soberness test, police officers told the staff of the public house that their "clients behave inadequately and are in the state of alcoholic intoxication".
"I am simply beside myself with rage - on what is taxpayers' money spent? On looking for drunken men in pubs?", asked Mardsen, saying that is was a usual Friday evening, and the number of slightly drunken people was not bigger than usual.
Police officers' behavior infuriated the owner of the pub so much, that he lodged a complaint to the county police requesting to investigate the incident. |
