Local authorities in Krakow have passed the law that restricts smoking in public places. In 14 days when the law comes into force it will be forbidden to smoke at the city transport stations, children playgrounds, and also in the parks: Krakowski, Bednarskiego and Jordana. However in all these parks there will be allocated a special place for smoking with the area of 50 square meters, equipped with benches and ashtrays. According to the local administration nobody is going to catch and fine the lawbreakers. The authorities just want to draw attention to nonsmokers who dislike cigarette smoke and to make the respect of nonsmokers' rights to be a standard of behavior in the city. |
