11 Jan. 2008

On Thursday France has launched a special project that should help them to achieve the European leadership in tourism based revenue.

This program is going to be controlled by the the Economics Minister Christine Laggard and Tourism State Secretary Luke Chatel. Experts of an American consulting company will be engaged into the realization of the project. They are to present 'strategic analysis of the tourist demand for the next 115 years'.

We'll mention that every year France receives more tourists that any other country in the world. However, according to the tourist income data it is just on the third place in the top list. Thus, in 2006 tourists have enriched France with 46,3 billion US dollars, whereas in Spain that amount made up to $51,1, and $85,7 billion - in USA.

At the same time President of France Nikolas Sarkozy expressed a desire for winning back the title of Paris 'The world's most beautiful city'.

"Paris should become again a symbol of art of life for all the world, the most beautiful city on Earth. Let it surprise and enchant us again" - emphasized the head of the state. According to Sarkozy the project of Paris renewal will be realized in close contact with the capital area's inhabitants, deputies of municipal meetings and districts' mayors.
