In a picturesque Swiss village Herznach, situated in the Argau canton, iron ore was mined over centuries. When the ore had run out, the mines of the local ore mining enterprise were closed for almost forty years. However, in the year 2002 the tunnels were reconstructed and turned into the vacation center for tourists.
The formerly closed enterprise became a peculiar kind of gastronomic center of the region. Now in the former mine one can stay overnight and have a breakfast in the morning. Herznach is situated halfway between Zurich and Basel. |
