Authorities of Mexico have enriched their public transport stock with the new buses, which will be used only by women. «We constantly got complaints from women that, being in overcrowded buses, they experienced physical and verbal offenses", - this is the explanation for such decision, given by the representative of the Department of Public Transport of the Mexican capital.
"Woman's" buses will stop at usual bus stations, but they will have the big pink tablets with the following inscription "Only for women". Today they use such buses only for the two busiest routes, but the Department of Public Transport of Mexico City intends to put these buses on 15 more routes by April.
Similar sexual differentiation operates already for a long period of time in the underground of Mexico City, where the first three carriages of each train are intended for women and children. In general, this practice is not rare in the world. There are "woman's" taxi, buses and underground carriages in many large cities of different countries. |
