On tuesday the authorities of the Japanese capital have officially declared the beginning of the Sakura Blossom season. The Sakura has begun to blossom 8 days earlier due to the warm weather that is settled up in the central part of the country. The early-blooming sorts of this plant are flowering in Tokio already for a long time. But the Meteorological Bureau in Japan is following the traditions.
The beginning of the season is determined by the trees located on the territory of Shinto Yasukuni Shrine. The official acknowledgment is made only after the branches are covered minimum with 5 flowers. The full blossom will be achieved in Tokyo in about two weeks. After that the whole city will be drowning in the sea of flowers. According to the tradition - millions of the inhabitants of the land of the rising sun - are arranging picnics right under the trees and enjoy the sight and watch the slowly falling petals... |
